In March of 2007 we also visited ‘Stone Garden’ which was created by Dervish Khan. Forty years ago, upon losing his treasured garden, Dervish Khan reacted by installing many suspended stones on dried local trees. Though he is deaf, he is able to communicate very effectively with his body language and expressions. I was very excited that I met a person, who for many years, has collected and worked with stones. On our way there, I chose a unique stone. While in Dervish Khan’s garden, I carved and dedicated the stone to Dervish. The image depicts the ‘tree of life’. He then asked me to install it on one of the trees. I am very happy that he liked my work and accepted it as a gift.
